It began years ago, with an internship, a rainy afternoon, and a moment that still echoes today. The founder was working for a PPE company in Germany, seated behind a computer as the day drifted by in shades of grey. From his office window, he often stared into the construction site across the street. It was foggy that day, but the silhouettes of workers moved steadily through the mist. Like ants around an anthill, they built something few would ever pause to appreciate.
Then something caught his eye, a spray of orange sparks from metal grinding. The sharp glow contrasted beautifully against the blue-grey haze, mesmerizing in its contrast, almost cinematic. But in the next moment, that illusion shattered. A worker stumbled backward, gripping his face in pain. There were no screams, just the muffled world of clicking keyboards and faint music in his headphones. Yet in his mind, the scene was deafening.
The worker hadn’t been wearing safety glasses. Those sparks, the same ones that lit up the fog, had become a hazard. And in that single moment, the intern saw what too many overlooks: the price of subpar protection.
